TO CELEBRATE WATER, NATURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT
The Aqua Project is all about positive creative energy.
The Universal languages of Art and music can create a positive message about our environment whereas demonstrations sometimes fail to engage.
Artists and Musicians can participate in this positive message of change by presenting their work on these themes in the various themed projects when announced.
Positive change can come through artistic creativity.
This is The Aqua Project’s environmental and water awareness mission.
OPENING PROJECT
FIVE STARS : CONCERTS AND EVENTS
The opening project of The Aqua Project is “FIVE STARS”, named after the 5 stars that appeared in 1393 in Prague.
The founder of The Aqua Project, the opera singer, composer and conductor Barry Gerald Webb, lived in Prague and then Nepomuk for the past 15 years. Read on for the whole story about this and Nepomuk.
Music, Art and events in the FIVE STARS opening project are on the theme of water, the stars and cosmos, and the positive energy of luck, relating all this to the environment.

HOW ARE THESE EVENTS HAPPENING?
The concerts, art exhibitions and events are presented at first on-line and then in person as projects develop.
2023 starts with performances from the founder, publishing of past performances, and then performances by friends and guests of the founder, all of whom he has worked with in the past.
A dedicated YouTube channel for the on-line events is:
www.youtube.com/@TheAquaProject
As The Aqua Project grows, more musicians and artists will be invited to contribute to these events.
The themes of water and the environment are explored through literature, and writings on philosophy, aesthetics, science and religion.

Music in 2023-24 includes songs and instrumental pieces mostly from classical, opera, music theatre, and some entertainment from jazz, world and popular music:
To get the ball rolling, the 2023-24 music starts with our founder singing classical and modern pieces on-line. Extracts are taken below from the lyrics with references to water and nature and the cosmos:
“Look up, look up, look up to the stars, believe in the future, the future is ours.”
Words from the song “Look Up”, sung and composed by Barry Gerald Webb. 2nd October 2022, Live Concert, Mosseley Hill Church, Liverpool.

Orpheus with his lute. Vaughan Williams/Shakespeare.
“Orpheus with his lute made trees,
And the mountain-tops that freeze,
Bow themselves, when he did sing:
To his music, plants and flowers
Ever sprung; as sun and showers
There had made a lasting spring.”
E luceva le stelle. “When the Stars were shining brightly”. Tosca. Puccini.
Adelaide. Beethoven.
“In the reflection of the river, in the snows of the Alps,
In the golden clouds of sinking day,
In the fields of stars thy face beams forth,
Adelaide!”

THE AQUA PROJECT MISSION IS TO PUT THE ENVIRONMENT FIRST
Music and art are the results of the natural energies of frequency and vibration, expressed in notes and colours.
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
The concept of musica universalis, or music of the spheres, and the relationship between the cosmos and music has been around since Pythagorus.

BACKGOUND TO THE AQUA PROJECT
The Aqua Project follows on from Project Nepomuk, founded by our founder and sponsored by the Arts Council of England in 2018, a cultural dialogue between Liverpool, the founder’s home in the North West of England, and Nepomuk, his home in the Czech Republic.
The most famous alumni of Nepomuk was St John of Nepomuk, and although we are backed by the luck of a Saint, our mission is not religious but it is to raise awareness of the environment.
A new opera “Nepomuk” was created by the musician and composer Barry Gerald Webb.
An Art exhibition was held showing the work of North West Contemporary Artists.
Our founder’s interest in the beneficial natural energies of nature, water and music led to him founding The Aqua Project.
He studied philosophy at Cambridge University and his belief is that positive change can come through artistic creativity.
This is The Aqua Project’s environmental and water awareness mission.
